Role: Systems Designer

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000

Location: Peterborough - within 30 mins of home address, any travel beyond that will be paid.

MCS is recruiting for a systems designer to support growth within our design team.

About us:

McIntyre Compliance Services is a trusted compliance safety company carrying out tests / services to make sure customers properties are safe and meet current legislations. We currently maintain, service and repair over 70000 housing association and local authority properties across the UK.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Carrying out compliant designs for fire alarms, emergency lighting, access control, & warden call systems In line with the British standards.
• Carry out site surveys and quantity surveying the material requirements.
• Ascertaining labour and health and safety requirements for each project.
• Write technical specifications, cause & effects, and complete design drawings.
• Be able to understand fire risk assessments and design to their requirements.
• Interacting with clients and fire risk assessors to discuss design requirements.
• Meet customer deadlines.
• Driving to sites across the UK. Full clean driver’s license.
• Willing to occasionally work late to complete designs in a timely manner.
• Liaise with the operations and commissioning team once a design has been approved so they are aware of the project requirements.
   

The ideal candidate will have:

• Up to date FIA fire alarm design qualification or equivalent.
• Electrical qualifications. (Level 3 minimum)
• Emergency lighting design experience.
• Experience in access control, warden call, security, & CCTV systems.
• Extensive knowledge of BS7671, BS5266, BS5839 Parts 1 & 6.
• Previous experience within a projects department so materials and labour time scales are accurate.
• An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations within the workplace
• A full UK driving licence
• A good level of IT literacy
